The Pioneer Library System Foundation welcomes author Wes Moore for a presentation on his novel “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates,” taking place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Norman Public Library Central, 103 W. Acres St.

Drawing on his experiences as a leader in the public and private sectors and in the military, Moore explains that embracing your own personal responsibility – and holding yourself accountable for your choices – is a quality that makes great “transformational leaders” who create a vision, then inspire and empower those around them to execute that vision. Moore’s novel is being turned into a movie being produced by Oprah Winfrey.

This event caps the Pioneer Library System’s “Spark a Change” initiative, which has looked at the topic of poverty through the lens of Mr. Moore’s novel and many community speakers and programs during 2021.
